Brent Woodard utilizes a variety of techniques to render a broad spectrum of subject matter including commissioned oil portraits, themed murals, commercial illustration and detailed portraiture work in several mediums, including monument granite. His work is included in private, public, and Christian collections.
A native of Ohio, Brent spent his childhood in Lucasville. Studying and utilizing the Arts throughout his adolescence, he continued his education at The Columbus College of Art & Design, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. He is currently in the Marshall University Graduate College of Art Program, completing a Masters degree for the concentration of Studio Arts: Painting.
Brent has worked in the fields of graphic printing, freelance illustration and newspapers. He has had the opportunity to author many features and columns for publication pertaining to subjects as varied as politics & government and the Arts in education.
He has also worked extensively in education as a guest lecturer for Advanced Placement and College Prep Art classes, English Literature classes, as well as courses at the collegiate level.
As with many artists, Brent’s skills are multifaceted. An accomplished session drummer, he has performed with the Soul to Soul Praise Team and continues to work as a studio musician.
Brent resides in Portsmouth, Ohio with his wife and children.
